A mate chucked me a Pace 2500B that was coming up with the "No Signal" error. I told him it probably just needed a new tuner, and agreed to look at it.

The trouble is that the tuner is fine. I know this because I stuck a new one in. The "Signal Strength" is showing up OK, but the "Signal Quality" is zero. Any ideas?

There are lots of causes for the "no satellite signal" symptom. Apart from replacing a dud LNB and a knackered tuner, there's not much you can do in the way of DIY repair. My friend, Michael, just invested £4000 *just* for desoldering equipment! You could send it to him for repair:
Digibox Repair Shop or try elsewhere.

If you want to learn more about the sort of faults that occur, you could buy the book "Repairing Sky Digital Receivers" at http://www.The-Cool-Book-Shop.com
