I recently acquired a Nokia 1800 S IRD Satellite Receiver with the aim of picking up any clear to air channels broadcast from Hispasat. I know my dish is set up correctly but I don't see how I can "scan" or "find" any channels using this receiver. Reading the documentation I have it seems that you need to know all of the details / parameters of the chanels you want beforehand. Is that correct ? or is that a search mode ? How does one search using this receiver ? Any help appreciated ! Thanks .... Matt

From memory this is an analogue receiver and they were all manually tuned I think.

With some analogue receivers you could cycle up & down through the frequencies with the remote control button and stop when you see a picture onscreen.

You may have to look up in listings like SatcoDX for the analogue frequencies.

Only 1 analogue channel left on Hispasat, and that is Canal + on 12591 H

And its encoded for most of the day.....

Only really 2 worthwhile satellites really for analogue now - Astra 1 and Hotbird.
