North Beam, 2D Reception in Cadiz Spain???

I am getting ready to install Sky digital in Rota, Spain (Cadiz). Can anyone tell me if this will be a problem receiving signals from the 3 beams? I will be using a 1.2m dish and a Panasonic TU-DSB20. Thanks!!!

With that dish size you will most probably have problems with some 2B North transponders, and in bad weather 2A north also.

Perfect reception from 2D, a bit weaker on ITV2. Get Sky One but can't get Virgin Radio.

The bit about Sky1 is probably inaccurate now as it has recently moved to a south beam.

Thank you for the information. I do have another quick question. Why is the 2D beam easier to reach than the 2 North beams? It looks like the footprint is much smaller...

The main 2D footprint is much smaller than the north beams, however 2D has some weird and wonderful strong sidelobes, which Cadiz, luckily (for you anyway) is in.

There is no guarantee that for some unknown reason the sidelobes won't move drastically or disappear altogether, however they haven’t moved (besides the very slight daily shifts/fades) since the satellite launched, so there should be no real reason for concern.
