That is if the neighbours don't shoot it down beforehand.

Still on for April 15th, and the payload is a weather (some reports claim an 'earth observation')satellite.

The rocket has already arrived at site by train, interested parties can use the following coordinates for the launchpad with their online mapping software.

39°39′36.27 N 124°42′19.06 E or 39.660075°N 124.7052944°E

Well, it's not going to be a geostationary orbit.

Odds on of it getting shot down are considerably improved with this trajectory

Some pictures

This is probably going to be the most watched launch this century, for all the wrong reasons.

And the Japanese didnt even have time to shoot it down.

Wonder if the head of the rocket division has been ordered to go to Pyongyang Glorious Tractor Factory #7 on Monday morning?

Wow,all the waiting and the hype and in the end it was a flop. They couldn't build a simple space vehicle to go all the way. I mean, it's not rocket scie...... oh .

There's really no reason why the Koreans couldn't get another one into place within a few days.

Only the North Koreans know that.

What was shown to the press a couple of days before the launch was no orbital payload though. You dont put a satellite thats about to be orbited in a dusty room a couple of feet from journalists
