I can't believe that there has been a run on the bank today, the only reason the Northern Rock needed a loan from the B of E was that most of the other banks are closing the doors for interbank loans at the moment, they have their own problems.

The Mob mentality strikes again, start a queue and we Brits will join it, start a mob and the same happens.

If I had accounts and shares with Northern Rock, I'd move on too, as simple as that. It's the bank's own fault, but I'm sure if it came to it they'd be taken over by a big foreign bank, hopefully resulting in no job losses.

Hi Rolfw,

If you think the amount people that started the Run today on the High street cannot be believed,
what do we think about the Stock Market Run on the Bank today (32% down)
(£2.02p off share Price).
If that Share drop continues next week Northen Rock will either have
a takeover bin lodged, or go into Receivership.
Monday will tell, If Share Holders keep selling the people in the High Street
will follow.
This could start an Avalanche in the banking sector.

BF...

As I say, mob mentality, the stock market thrives on it, countries are bankrupt by it, there is little logic behind it.

A bit like a global recession, how can it happen? We are fine one day and the next we are in recession, mob mentality and panic sets in, I guess that they deserve what they get.

@ Salty, Welcome to the mob. ;)

Thing is, she looks as thin as my 11 year old neice, which would really make me feel "concerned" about having a relationship with someone that anaerexic....

Well, if nobody else thinks much of her.

She hasn't changed that much since Pirates of the Caribbean 1, (and that was quite a few years ago), the problem is the comparison jockeys that believe any snippet of paparazzi trash in the rags, and the power of the media in controlling the news that gets into public domain.

A good interview on Jonathon Ross last week, she can hold her own.
