And I'm sorry I haven't got a Clue

Switched on the radio today as I was pootling over to a job and,

First word out the speakers was 'shit', then later not much later, 'arse'.

Very funny (love Jack Dee on stage and in Lead Balloon) but if Puritans had woken up late on a Sunday to hear Desert Island Discs, I'm sure there would be a plethora of complaints to follow this particular transmission from Mr and Mrs Angry.

Have a listen

Note the zero 'likely to offend' on the page.

It doesn't seem to bother the listeners to BBC Radio 2. Otherwise "All about that bass", which contains one of those words, would not have been played on the station repeatedly for weeks. The other one was a play on the word "arsenic". Standard stuff for ISIHAC.

I've noticed a lot more swearing on the beeb of late, even on the news in relation to plebgate, with a few choice uncensored words slipping out, doesn't bother me too much, but, so long as it doesn't end up like some youtubers out there who eff and jeff every other word...

Always liked the way Humph feigned innocence when reading out the Samantha escapades.

60 years with his band would've given him a fine vocabulary of risque jokes.

Clue has been famous for its blue double entendre jokes for decades. Anyone choosing to listen knows exactly what they're letting themselves in for.

The introduction of scatological words seems to be across the board on Radio 4. Perhaps because it's a station aimed at thinking people?

If you think that's bad you should have been listening to Radio 5 on Saturday the 15th November.
I was working, until after 3 PM, and after I'd finished I thought I'd catch up on some sports news, including the rugby, instead I tuned into a BBC promotional advertisement, informing the listeners of an upcoming program, concerning what goes on in male sports changing rooms, and a description of a man, bent over a chair, with his pants round his ankles, at which point I turned off the radio and didn't bother tuning in again until last weekends football.

You need to stop watching television and listening to the radio.

Take them all to the skip.

Problem solved. :)

The uncensored versions are available, on some sites.
I'm still trying to understand what happened to censorship, in the UK, I still remember seeing Carry on Camping, in the 70's, or 80's, on television, and it wasn't edited, including the opening scene, in the cinema, where we got to see a nudist camp, and topless women.
Roll on almost 40 years and all female nudity seems to be banned, including a scene in Overboard, where Goldie Hawn, in a revealing bathing suit, shows off most of her bottom, essential to the film as Kurt Russell spots het tattoo, which he uses to later identify her as his missing wife, yet any amount of male nudity, especially the naked bottom, seems to be acceptable at any time of the day.

I didn't think it was bad, just a little surprised it would be
1) On Radio 4
2) On a Sunday
3) Before any watershed.

Good question.

The media morons seem to spend most of their time smoking illegal substances so it is hard to imagine them of being capable of censoring anything.

There's no watershed for BBC Radio. Never understood that, young children are as inquisitive whether through their eyes or ears. " What does that word mean, mummy?"

Signposting of dubious material may be given, but can be missed.

Samantha and her 38 bees
"Samantha's just started keeping bees and already has three dozen or so. She says she's got an expert handler coming round to give a demonstration. He'll carefully take out her 38 bees and soon have them flying round his head."

Akin to 'The batsman's Holding the bowlers Willie', or words to that effect.

Another iffy Radio 4 broadcast late last week. Loose Ends. I've never really warmed to Clive Anderson, and now I know why. Complete tosh

I really should find another station in the van. Suggestions please

First time I've seen ET and somewhat bemused they had 'penis-breath' in a film script aimed at children.
