Got to be heat and not sound, no point in cooking a microphone with a cassegrain feed.

Although looking at it where would the transfer take place ? . You'd think the secondary system would be near the point of collection to minimise losses, and I don't see any insulation of any worth.

Where and how big mate ??

Some kind of light tunnelling thing? Lights up the rooms below with light collected from the roof?

At first thought new type of hot water heating system for hot countries, but the fact that it is reflective material and not black to absorb heat, indicates a light source for dark areas perhaps a staircase???

A snip at $8000. Cheaper to go outside with my morning coffee.

"The tracking system itself requires very little power to operate. It could be supported by a small solar cell – equivalent to a 9-volt battery (which would last about a week)."

And thers sat fans using huge 36v tracking units. We are doing something wrong somewhere.:D

If you took the second reflector bit (where the LNB would be if it was a dish) away and pointed it at something you could probably do some damage. I wouldn't like to stand in front of it with that bit missing anyway.
