After reading, I am wondering if the quad LNB I got last year is universal or only for a mini dish Its a Wistron 13671, it came with an adapter to fit any mini dish. It is like this one on ebay

ebay item number 220115075708

Yes, they are quad universal, but designed for a minidish. They will work on a normal dish, but are better suited to the minidish.

PS, the term universal refers to the frequencies it covers, rather than the design of the LNB or feedhorn, a universal LNB has an upper and lower band, with switching controlled by a 22Khz tone and vertical and horizontal mode, controlled by voltage switching.

PPS. I'm not entirely convinced that all LNBs now sold to fit minidishes are specially designed for them, but may be merely adapted with the minidish mounting bracket.

It is a true universal, but one supposedly designed for a minidish, if you've already ordered it, give it a try, you should get passable results.
