Calculator menu :
there is also a calculator embedded, you can test your parameters and check the result, you can do this for NS3, DVBS2 or both .

by SNR, CNR, modcode, manually or automatically, and then you press "apply" and roll the clip

Few screenshots (you can see all the FEC available in NS3)and roll off from 0.05 to 0.35.

@Feedsat_DXer

Nice toy. You have a demodulated carrier, how do you output this to a decoder? Those BNC sockets? Otherwise I can only see LAN, RS232 ports.

Hi Feedsat.

Very nice. Are you able to view the EBU hypermux at 10E? I suppose it will be encrypted... Look forward to more screenshots.

This is a variant of the DVB-S2X, with more FEC, more QPSK ,and less bandwidth to buy for same result
(not easy to explain simply), but if you don't have a NS3 receiver, you have no way to watch it, PC card doesn't exist.
RRsat, EBU and some other providers already use NS3 for a couple of years, the most difficult for a satellite enthousiast is to find a receiver.

Yes , only with ASI output (for the moment, connected to he ASI input of a MPEG4 IRD but not the best way for a daily use, (I'm on it...)

Most of the part of the EBU Mux @ 10°E (also @ 3°W 55.5°Wand 100.5°E) are DATA (this is the function of the Gig Ethernet output port) and yes, streams are in BISS for most of them. Novelsat can't use BISS in their products, broadcasters and owners are working with a MPEG4 IRD to encode and decode the streams .

There is also an option in NS3: Dual Channel mode:

Example of the interface (not a real dual channel):

Feedsat_DXer,

Can you please explain a couple of points for me?

1. How do you find the NS3 signals, is there some type of "blind scan" available in the NS2000 demodulator?
2. Will any MPEG4 IRD with an ASI input accept the output from the NS2000 demodulator?
3. Will a computer DVB card with an ASI input be able to accept the signal from the NS2000 demodulator?
4. Can the demodulated signal be recorded as a TS file by some method?

It's a very nice piece of equipment, I hope we can get to see some pictures of the NS3 transmissions once you have got things setup.

Rgds

Feedsat_DXer,

1. How do you find the NS3 signals, is there some type of "blind scan" available in the NS2000 demodulator?
: No NS3 Blindscan , TBS6983 can give a SR but it's rarely the correct SR
here is an example with 4 scans , 4084 H is always show with a different SR:
scan2.JPG scan3.JPG scan4.JPG scan5.JPG
2. Will any MPEG4 IRD with an ASI input accept the output from the NS2000 demodulator?:
Yes
3. Will a computer DVB card with an ASI input be able to accept the signal from the NS2000 demodulator?
: Yes
4. Can the demodulated signal be recorded as a TS file by some method?
: Yes

The most interesting tool for answering most of your question and for our hobby is probably something like this :
Alitronika AT4USB The ApsiPod DVB-ASI player and recorder
but there are plenty of other interfaces.

Feedsat_DXer,

Many thanks for the reply.

If I understand correctly, the ASI signal from the NS2000 could be output to the AT4USB device connected to a computer via a USB port. The signal from the AT4USB could be analysed on the computer using TSReader or possibly TransEdit?

If this is possible then a TS file recording could be made on the computer of the signal using TSReader or TransEdit?

so your using the tbs card to find the tuning frequency then experimenting with sr values until the ns2000 gets a lock?

if you don't mind me asking, how much did the ns2000 cost?
