Not what you would imagine Cor, they really are superb, a bit like pancakes, but with a lot of taste..

They arrived yesterday morning so didn't have a chance to give any to Jimbo or Tirosh, had some for lunch and took some down to my sister, all either went into the fridge or freezer immediately.

You may need to look at the carriage though, as mhku says, it is prohibitive, have you looked at Citylink?

Oh no, not those damn oatcakes again!

Staffordshire ones are soggy things, I prefer the Scottish version, which is more like a biscuit!

The only kind of oatcake I knew about before this thread was the biscuit type Scottish one, which I like a lot. But these ones sound good, wouldn't mind trying some :)

And that's got me hungry...

That was well timed, some neighbours brought round some of the grapes they grow, still warm from the afternoon sun.

Probably too soft for burritos, great for something like a hungarian pancake though. :)

Are they suitable for wrapping round LNBs to insulate them from the Aegean sun?

As Dr Johnson said (while in Scotland) : "In England, Oats are what we give to horses."

Bakewell Tarts are quite nice, but expensive, especially if they're real ones from Bakewell. Manchester Tarts are cheaper, but not as tasty, alright if you like that sort of thing!

He thought it such a witticism thet he included it as a definition in his Diictionary of the English Language.
I liked his definition of angling: "A stick and a string with a worm on one end and a fool on the other"

Similar to a cigarette, replace the worm for a bonfire

Anyway, you can leave staffordshire oatcakes out in the open air, where they will they dry out and go hard, then they make quite good disposable table mats (completely biodegradable!).

Custard pies, anyone?
