Ooh! Lovely... I was waiting for a new receive to come out. 4008 just wasn't quite complete for me.

BTW, these FBC tuners - can normal LNBs still be used on them?

Yes Normal 'LNB's' can still be used but you will not get the functionality that and FBC LNB can give ie: the extra tuners

I have the Gigablue Quad 4k with fbc tuners and a Global Ivacom TWF-031 C120 Lnb. As a test I did 8 recordings at the same time on 19.2 Eastwith one being 4K. No problems.

This will be my new receiver!! I wonder though, will it ship with all that tuner combo? If it has 8+2+2 tuners and you can connect another 11 virtual (usb or satip) tuners you get a staggering 23 tuners total. Is E2 capable of handling all of these? We'll see...

I barely manage to decipher what goes on on 1 channel, let alone 23 at the same time...

I assume that this will also be multistream capable?

was that with 'One' tuner if ot was then thats pretty good as my solo 4k can only manage 4 recordings and watch another on one single tuner as the FBC should give 8 per tuner with an compatible LNB

The FBC tuner I don't think so, but I'm certain the DVBS2X tuners will be the newer Silabs ones which of course will handle multistream, it would be odd not to since 4008 does.

Yes Normal 'LNB's' can still be used but you will not get the functionality that and FBC LNB can give ie: the extra tuners

Error, if it gives the additional tuners with normal LNB, but you lose the advantages of unicable.

LNB unicable.- Total bandwidth independence and polarity of all tuner.
LNB normal.- With a single cable connected to the Tuner A, you can only tune the band and polarity of the Tuner A (Master) in the other tuner that would be configured by default / is configured automatically (mistakenly indicate no), something similar to this :
"Not Configured-This tuner is set automatically" and yes, if it is set.
----------

This will be my new receiver!! I wonder though, will it ship with all that tuner combo? If it has 8+2+2 tuners and you can connect another 11 virtual (usb or satip) tuners you get a staggering 23 tuners total. Is E2 capable of handling all of these? We'll see...

Enigma2 guarantee that 18 Tuner handles them very well, 16SAT+2TDT (3 Slot ==> 4+4SAT, 4+4SAT, 2TDT)
I hope this time all the tuner works, in the SF4008 you can put 4 Tuner (has 2 slot), but the receiver only handles 3, some fellows put another USB-TDT.

With this information, it may only have 2 slots, I hope to be in error.
FBC S2x, DUAL DVB-S2X, DUAL DVB-C/T2.
----
Enigma2 garantizo que 18 Tuner los maneja muy bien, 16SAT+2TDT (3 Slot ==> 4+4SAT, 4+4SAT, 2TDT)

FBC S2x, Twin DUAL DVB-S2X, Doble DUAL DVB-C/T2.

PS: The blind search, surely nothing/La busqueda ciega, seguramente nada.:-ohcrap:cool:

I'm totally confused. The only "Full band" chip set I have found is the Broadcom:
Broadcom Delivers Multi-Channel DVB-S2X Satellite Set-Top Box Chip
That article above gives an IF of 250-2350MHz whereas other Broadcom info suggests just 950-2150:
Broadcom's Full-Band Capture: Digital Tuning That Enables Much More Bandwidth With Much Less Energy
Broadcom debuts family of satellite STB chips with 4K support

The above ties in with Sky Q. I had problems using 250-2350 on a TBS6983, so how do they get around the aliasing problems?
Using TBS6983/6903 Below 900MHz (STV6120)
None of the above are "Unicable" as far as I can tell, are they??? Maybe it's a semantics and jargon problem.

I can't see an "FBC" chip set from SiLabs or anyone else. When I get time , I'll look for the standards as there is a lack of info about frequency ranges etc.

That the LNB is a twin tuner. Even so I doubt I will ever record more than 2 channels at once.

Looks like it has the makings of a good enthusiasts receiver I hope it has a blind scan like my SX88 with Ultra HD will make a nice addition to my collection.

According to the rule, it would be Enigma2, and it just needs to work well to order one.

In 4K (UHD) currently only the Dreambox900 4K (300/368€) has a blind search and it works, a friend wanted to try 4K channels and blindly search in Astra to 19'2ºE, finding the channels of 10714 H (when it had several demos).
-----

Does the Dreambox900 4K come with the Blind Scan already active like the SX88 does ?

I don't know about the Dreambox, but the Amiko A4K comes with blind scan, scans in 4K easily and can stream 4.2.2 to the PC.........P1010002.JPG

It's all in the drivers folks, and how these are provided to each manufacturer plus their own priorities. Clearly blindscan especially when it's hardware supported is not something that impossible to implement. Yes, Dreambox 900 has blindscan but they keep everything closed source, so where is their contribution?
Every other manufacturer so far has not invested in giving a blindscan implementation its deserved priority. Especially new generation receivers with great support such as SF4008 opted for what the mass demanded and guess what? That was Kodi (FFS). I've said that many times, DXers are the last part of the stick for manufacturers, nobody cares about our needs really! :(
I believe that once the first one releases blindscan it will run on every E2 box of the same specs in no time, but how long will it take to happen?
BTW about the Amiko A4K receiver, does it run Enigma2? If it's a closed firmware there is no comparison with E2, two completely different things.

In my opinion, nothing new ...
Same chip type in same line as other brands for E2, the SF4008 not have blindscan, also not support feeds mpeg4 4: 2: 2 and this box will be the same thing.
It was necessary to appear something with other hardware, like Sigma or others, i do not know if Hisilicon chipset can handle it...

Not Enigma2 but it runs Android. But the apps it can run to me are the same. Enigma 2 is far too much of a car crash, but that is just my opinion.

I have looked through several film clips on the Amiko A4K Combo but none show the Blind Scan Function ?
Can you please give me a screen shot of the Blind Scan menu,
Thank you.
