Octagon slim optima oslo pll 40mm to c120

The latest bodge to come out of the workshop is this with very little choice with C120 LNB's these days...
Cut a C120 flange off a dead Inverto twin and grafted it to the Octagon which also had its integral feedhorn cut off the Octagon is PLL, so hoping for a bit of an improvement. RustySpoons gave me the idea...

If it is a PLL why are there two cavity traps with sealant over the screws ?

At some point there will be a shortage of C120 flanges, somebody should start an INOX production line........

I have been carving up a couple of OSLO LNBFs as of late, the internal chamber measurements leave a lot to be desired for full Ku band operation when compared to the theory measurements and some of the other designs on the market (Inverto and Sharp - DRO kit).

Then again I don't intend on using them for the satellites they were built for.

Well its advertised as PLL. They may be being cheapskates and using a DRO casing...
Will test it and see...

No need, the bugger is DRO been on Octagons web site..looks like I might grafted the wrong one..The twin is PLL, sure that is in the box of bits in the garage...
