="John, post: 1025487, member: 175005"]thanks stephan that's a big help. There have been problems in the past with some Technomate receivers that had the LO "user" option in the menu to do blind scans on various Ka bands and C band lnb's that used LO's of 5.76 or lnb's that do extended C-band frequency coverage like 3600 - 4800 etc but when you pressed "Go" or whatever, the rx just failed to start or crashed . Do you know of any beta testers that can run a successful blind scan on these less common lnb and band choices.
i am the only beta tester
I know this video very very well:DC1-tile.jpg
With the band C, the blindscan also works without problem

Thanks again stephan.
I am asking these questions purely from an enthusiasts point of view to see if this receiver has got what it takes to be useful to somebody that uses a not the run of the mill system and to see also if it can provide the same degree of flexibility or similar, to that say of a TBS6983 pc card running Crazyscan / EBSpro / TSReader etc.
I use a variety of Ka band lnb's with a variety of different LO's on a working system and also run some C band systems that use the LO's of 5150 / 5750 / 5760 and it would be nice to establish if this receiver was capable of performing correctly with the given LO's above. I would be willing to beta test a receiver on these points raised above.
Rgds.

Huh. Priorities, eh?

What I'd welcome is knowing how to get a Discount! ;):D

John's ahead of you on the discount front;)..........

I would be willing to beta test a receiver on these points raised above.

and if it's possible to select LO high or low on all frequencies

Does it support manual Multistream parameters input? Or everything is stored in the firmware? T2-MI btw is not Multistream as we refer to it!

hello MCelliotG
We can not give the parameters of MIS.
So it is likely that everything in the receiver.

I could see all put them except on Hellasat 39 ° East.
Also the multistreams T2MI Zeonbud on 4. 9 ° East.
also those on 40 ° East in band C
also those on hispasat, with difficulty for 11491 V because it takes a lot of dB (14-6) to be locke.
The receiver to a reception sensitivity average.

I also have a TBS6983 with Crazyscan /EBSPro /IQMonitor.
This small receiver is not a competitor for TBS cards.
It is not very sensitive
the blindscan find frequencies from about of sr 1200.
It can read the 16APSK
it can read some frequencies with SR below 1000, sometimes he finds radios but not always.
OL, I don't know, I'll watch.

Thanks Stephan, this almost confirms that all MIS parameters are stored in the firmware and the newest Hellassat NURTS package is not yet implemented. Now is it truly Linux? Did you try FTP? What does the info screen say? What chipset does it use, what tuner?

I was thinking about getting an Octagon SF4008. Then the SX88 has appeared.

Looking at the comments am I better staying with the Octagon SF4008.??? I guess it will do multisream and all the low radio frequencies. So then worth (money permitting) paying the extra to receive everything and not be disappointed with the SX88.

Will the SF4008 receive the DTV channels on Hispasat??

Would appreciate your thoughts. Thank you.

These two receptors are not at all similar.
SF4008 is E2
The SF4008 4K UHD can receive channels in DVB-SX2 and UHD.
the tuner is very sensitivity
we can install several additional Tuners
He can see the frequency with very small SR, it can store a lot of satellites and programs.

All that the SX88 can not do it.
the SX88 is much simpler, much cheaper
no problem to see the T2MI , which is not easy with the 4008.
It also has a BlindScan, that for now the 4008 does not.

I don't mind the Multimedia section,
for me a satellite receiver is to receive satellite programs and it's all.

Thank you stephan94 for your reply.

I am surprised the Octagon SF4008 has no blindscan for a receiver of over £200

It is a shame about the Advanced Blind Scan as the Linux is capable of so much more then Non Linux,
But the software writers do not have this on their agenda,

Maybe time for someone to start a new venture in enthusiast satellite receivers that will equally appeal to Joe Public with Multi Steam,4K DVB-SX2 & UHD, Detailed Blind Scan + 4:2:2 they would fly off the shelves :D

All it takes when a good receiver is released are some excellent reviews that everyone can understand (I should know as I used to along with other enthusiasts write the reviews) something that is sorely missing with the current batch of Linux.o_O
