Hello there

I'm after a big aluminium dish - around a metre wide would be perfect, even bigger would be fantastic. I don't need it for satellite purposes, so it can be in any condition.

I'm happy to come and fetch, I live in south London.

Hope someone can help

Fiona

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

I have a couple that were damaged in a lock up break in a few weeks ago.

Apart from a couple of dings around the edges they look OK.

Is 96cm OK ?

What are you using them for ?

Hi Channel Hopper - thanks for replying...

I want to put an aluminium support wall around each of them, fill them with water, add a fine coating of aluminium powder to the surface of the water, stick some speakers underneath with some recordings of metal being hit and see how the water/aluminium powder behaves in response to the sounds.

The satellite dishes would be, I hope, the perfect shape for getting a good physical response.

Can I have 'em? I'll come collect... I'm after something even bigger, ultimately, but 96cm would be very good for getting started and seeing what potential it has.

By the way, I'm an art student. Can't you tell?

I've given a number of reflectors away to people in the film business where they need scenes of some futuristic landscape or building, so I would not have guessed you were an artist from the request.

But in your favour, these dishes have only one hole, that should be easy to seal, and they are deep prime focus ones, so the patterns should be visible and symmetric.

You can collect almost anytime. I'm not far and will PM you.
