When we moved house a couple of years ago we got sky installed again. This left us with the old digibox as a spare.
My question is, would it be possible to use this old digibox to receive stations other than sky ones? Would it receive M-Net in Cyprus? (already set up and receiving M-Net) Or would it require modifiction? It's a Pace (bskyb) 2200.

Edit: Just thought as well, it needs a remote. Any suggestions?

yes it will work as long as symbol rate is 27500 or 22000 for that channel.if not then no
there is no mod for the skybox to get round that.a one4all 4 URC-7040-B00 remote is a good replacement.

You can add non Sky channels to a Sky digibox, but only if they are FTA and the symbol rate is 22000 or 27500. So you will have to check to see what the symbol rate of the channels you want is.

The option to do this is on the services menu.

The box will let you add up to 50, but when you get more than 30 or so it tends to randomly delete all the channels. The Sky digibox is not good for non-Sky channels, might be better to sell it and put the money towards a FTA receiver.

EDIT: beaten to it by neovo!

Okay guys. Thanks for the answers. I'm not sure if M-Net pas4/7 uses 22000 27500. How could I check apart from on the services menu?

Good condition, used for 1 year. How much should I sell it for?

Do you know what satellite it is on?

http://www.lyngsat.com/ has listings for every TV satellite across Europe (and the world) updated all the time :)

As for the price of the box, look on eBay for the same model and see how much it sells for to get an idea of what it is worth.

Thanks. No sign of 22000 or 27500 :(

Kilkenny/Wales you might have a problem geting them. did you have them before.?

Kilkenny Ireland. :) But it's for my Mum in Cyprus. They already have M-Net set up on a receiver over there. I wanted to get another in the bedroom for her. It's her 70th Birthday on 5th Feb and was hoping to get it sorted for then. Not looking good though. :(
