Gently pull the cap and see if it comes off, if does, then seal it with some silicone sealant.
A tip for getting the caps off LNBs _without_ damaging them ..
Pour boling water into a bowl about 3cm deep and quickly stand the feed or lnb in so that it covers the plastic cap ...
leave about 10 seconds and without cooling ...flick it off with a flat blade non sharp knife ..
This method even works for SL3s ..

It has already fallen off, while I was screwing the lnb on to the Feedhorn.

And just ordered some silicone in a small tube. As I only need a little bit for the cap.

Was also thinking of using some Ali tape on the join.

Certainly mine wouldn't fall off ...in fact it took several hot water applications to remove it ..
..but then ..I got mine direct from South Korea.
Where's quality control when you need 'em..

All still working, at some times of the day the tm5302 tuner is overloading.

And I have managed to lock the Scopus feed :-)

Not sure how accurate your Hughes 18GHz LO is now after it's little water problem Chris but that "Scopus" ID propper frequency equates to 18.763 H -

My tm5302 tags it as Scopus, so I assumed it was that, looks like I was wrong.

But on crazyscan with the lo set to 17350 newsnet is bang on 18558.

Chris is using the TM5302, he won't be able to set the correct LOF. Got a feeling that Scopus feed is actully horizontally polarised, you just may need to adjust the the skew a little.

I am getting a tad of bleed over from the horizontal horse racing channel. So I will go and Tweek it tomorrow.

Take that back, looks like it could be from a data channel. It's a 15000 sysmbol rate.

Your skew problem is showing up in your scan plots- post 28 Chris.
Re: LO querie, when my XMW had a similar water problem it affected the LO slightly due to having to take the cover off that was over the LO puck area where moisture had managed to get to.

For sure he can !

I wrote it before in a SL3K posting :

About that inverted scanning with standard receiver .
Go in to the lnb settings to C-band settings (OCS) and select the option where you can set your own LOF .
At the F16 (CT5000) and the TM5402 HD M3 this option has two places for LOF , I made them both 20450 .
And thats it , all frequencies are shown correct .
At C band the scale is also inverted .

The TM8000 and 5300 receivers use totally different sw than the 5403M3 and setting a user setting LOF does not work. Only the factory presets will work. TM are aware of this bug but are either not able to correct it or cannot be bothered to.

Just checked the tm5302, & the Scopus feed was tuned in with the lnb set to horizontal.

Chris, just watch the feedhorn cap on the XMW, mine were not sealed and I got moisture behind it. Some silcone cured it though....
Put some silicone around the end cap, and at the join between the Feedhorn and lnb.

I will leave it overnight to cure.

No worries Wim. The 5403M3 LOF user settings work perfectly.
.......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Not tried any of the F15 type receivers but the TM5402 HD M3 i use is the only receiver that allows me to put the correct LO in for the various Ka lnb's and also the extended C-band LO 5.76 and actually scan and function correctly. No problems with the pc cards of course.
