... here's a nice little jobby that could be useful to you Chris

Emitor Satlook Mark IV FTA
At the moment I have a Satlink WS-6933
image.jpeg image.jpeg

Still programming the data base in it. Only thing I don't like about this meter is to resolved tv picture.

It gives the signal strength and signal quality, but no picture.

The old Satlink meter I had, had a 5" screen, but was limited to dvb-s only.

I have had it a while now, and still trying to build the data base up.

I have to put the ka freqs in as a ku freq.

But it works quite well, for all I need :-)

At the moment, it's on my 1.5 Gibertini, about 2 or 3° from prime. I will go and take a photo in a min, just scanning 19.2°E H.

Yes that is the saorsat lnb, but never had a sniff of a signal though :-(
Had one of those on my rig for a while ...
ended up carved up for the feed as it was useless to me too ..
lol
I can get everything that the Saorsat covers with a Hughes so mine was no longer needed ..
;)

I used 2 doner lnb's for the feed horns on the direct Tv.

Now the test cards have gone on 31e I don't know if I will leave it on there.

As its mostly used for data now.

Nice one.
For some reason i thought you had a 1.25 Gibby dedicated to 18GHz.
I'm going to take my 18GHz off the changer on the 1.8 next week and put it on a dedicated 1.25 Gib and just run Vertical for the time being until something more interesting and frequent turns up on the Horizontal . The 1.8 now spends most of it's time on C-band and i am missing the Newsnet ladies :D

I had tried to use the Hughes 18ghz on my ISS 1m but then I had the omt and its Feedhorn.

Since then I have purchased an Xmw Feedhorn, that turned up today, so I then swapped them over.

As for the 1m ISS it still has the 21ghz ka/ku combo on it pointing at 7°E but I do get a very strong signal, but the ber is just killing me.

I have done a similar thing. Installed my spare Hughes on my 1.2 Greg and fed it to LNB 2 on the Icecrypt. Funny thing is the greg prefers the the OMT with the Hughes feedhorn than the XMW feedhorn, over a dB difference!

Chris, just watch the feedhorn cap on the XMW, mine were not sealed and I got moisture behind it. Some silcone cured it though....

Gently pull the cap and see if it comes off, if does, then seal it with some silicone sealant.
