Hello all,
I have an MR CAM at the moment and it is working OK. But, I am thinking of upgrading and the Dragon CAM is catching my attention.

My question is, would adding the Dragon CAM to my setup bring in more channels and more possibilities, or would I just be duplicating stuff?

Personal opinions are welcome ;-)

hi m8
Have not got a MR myself so am not sure what channel's it opens or if you require cards to open channel's.
Use dragon myself it seem to open most channel's without the need for card using Predator software. I think you can use a Tit card in the cam if it is required.

Hi Loftyj and Thanks for your reply.

MR opens a fair number of channels for me including Multivi$ion, TP$, AB, ... well, around 100 of them on 13E, and a good few more on Hi$pa and A$tra. I just feel it is a bit dated and is slow in zapping the channels (I also have an extra £100 to spend, you understand). Does your Dragon open up ART Sports 1,2,3 and 4 on 13E?

I was going to ask the same question, so any comments/advice is welcome. The comments I see suggest the dragon is the dogs knackers as far as cams are concerned.

hey guys,

be very careful - i have a dragon cam - and the rumours on the net are the support has dwindled - or dried up for it - we havent had a decent predator (dragon firmware) update for several weeks now and recently they had been appearing at least once a week before that - support seems to be strong for Matrix and Xcam at the mo' - i havent been able to watch Sky ITaly or the Thor (1W) footie for several weeks now and am getting worried that the death knell for the Dragon is being sounded .

If i knew several weeks ago what i know now i'd have bought a Xcam or Matrix

@hmadfai

hi - i can confirm it definitely does NOT open up ART sports ......and @loftyj to clarify yes i meant cannot watch Thor with native predator version - i know you can enter keys manually on remote but just a pain i the A** all other cams (Xcam MAtrix) have keys embedded

C+, C+ deporte on 19.2 E good for footie though - we're ok for the minute i think but support for Dragon gone very quiet

Hi loftyj,

ART Sports (alongside a bunch of other ART channels) are on 13E, 12016, 27.5 - would appreciate a double check on this. Thanks.

Hi dmm,

Thanks for your reply m8. I can see your dissatisfaction with the Dragon. The fact that support is tailing off is a bad indication - thanks for sharing the info. I have seen a few updates for the Matrix in the past few weeks so I guess it is still alive in one sense - but I haven't been able to watch $ky Italy on it since day one - I cannot even edit $eca 1 and $eca 2 keys manually on mine for some reason. I guess this extends the discussion to include the Xcam.

Anyone with an Xcam care to share their personal experiences?

Rumour has it that ART Sports 1,2,3 and 4 on 13E do the footie. I am still not sure which CAM, if any, is capable of zapping these.

Hi m8,

I learned a good few things about entering keys and loading updates from the MR FAQ file posted on this site on

h**p://www.satellites.co.uk/php-bin/forum/showthread.php?t=9384

check it out ...

Just my luck on the Dragon CAM support front - first post here, only bought the Dragon last Monday - got it up and running though. Also bought a Knotcard, programmed no prob with a Dynamite - hanging on for the S*y I*al* info. Been away from satellite for about 2 years, only recently reinstalled the dish after a house move.
I do hope there is still a future for the Dragon!

Hi hmadfia

Have just ran a check no channel open on that transponder think its via 2

Have started to make a list of transponders that Dragon will open and will post when compleat. Have already discovered Astra had most of the football on this evening.

Hi T24 and thanks for your reply.
There seems to be a general consensus seconding your opinion. It would then be a case of keep up with the slow zapping and spend the £100 on booze instead of another card!

Hi m8s
List of transponders that Dragon Cam is opening on Astra@19.2EAND Thor@1W. Hotbird will have to wait untill after the weekend.

THOR AT 1w
11229H, 11247V, 11278V, 11309V, 11325H,

Astra at 19.2E

10786V-------- 11038V--------- 12207V part
10876V-------- 11097V--------- 12285V part
10970V-------- 11156V--------- 12402V
----------------11318V--------- 12515H part
----------------11686v--------- 12574H
----------------11739V--------- 12581V part
----------------11778V--------- 12640V part
----------------11817V--------- 12692H
----------------11856V part
----------------11895V Part
----------------11934V
Part means just that, it will only open certain channels on that transponder
due to multi encriptions.
