Hi,
My box has been switching itself off at the
same time at CET 19:00 hrs every evening.
After restarting it searches for channels and then works fine again until next evening.
I would be grateful for any ideas and tips!

Regards Alaslas

my 2200 was having a period where I'd need to boot it too often for my liking so I forced a software download and as if by magic, it became more stable. With, of course, the identically-tagged software (according to the box display).

Is it still doing it Alaslas?

This sounds vaguely familiar, I think at the time of the last software upgrade some people with the same make and model of digibox reported their box switching off at the same time.

If you notice the box is on the Sky welcome channel on morning it will have had a software update (or you just had a power cut), even if the version number is the same Sky sometimes send seemingly the existing software to some models of box again. Or you could do as Leee did and force and update and see if that stops it.

Hi Polomint,

Yes it still turns off and opens the Sky Welcome channel in the morning. I tried
a forced update tonight which did no help.
I found information about new uppdated software from Sky being downloaded for older Pace digiboxes and Pace+ over the coming weeks. Maybe that should help!

02/03/04 Roll out of new EPG
software begins on Pace boxes
As we exclusively revealed
last week on Sky Digi Online, the new EPG software has begun
appearing on Sky Digital Pace boxes. The new changes, which we announced last
Friday (27th February) can be found here
The new software will be downloaded on Pace Sky and Sky+ digiboxes across this week. Other manufactured boxes will also begin receiving the updated software later this month.

Hopefully the new software will indeed solve this then.

Where are you Alaslas? If you have weak 2A North your box might be failing to update and thus always reverting back to the ‘old’ version.

If it isn’t a signal problem I wonder how may Pace owners are affected by this?

Yes, we forgot about the original query, didn't we.

It's also possible that the mains voltage is dropping as everyone in the area switches on their kettle when they come home. How reliable is the electricity supply near you?
