can you use this in a cam? as i was thinking of using it in my tv.
Should be possible with CI slot ive seen them on ebay. I prefere using my vusolo2 with oscam set with internal card reader cheaper option for me. NC+ cards without rsa key will not work with engima2. Il post full english soundtrack list if you like . Very easy to set Rsa key on oscam.
The other option is use official nc+ decoder. I wanted my motorised choice alongside which works perfect on enigma2.

That's the option I would prefer, provider boxes tend to be ok at best and complete cr#p most of the time.

See whilst we're on the subject of subs, is/has there something happened with Viasat? Lots of receivers, some used some brand new for sale on eBay. The Nordic pack on 4.8E was well sought after when they had the Premier League rights but you needed a 1.1/1.2 metre dish up here for the pay TV transponders that done the PL ect.
Only the Norwegian package is showing regular PL matches, which is on SES-5, not Astra 4A, and is much weaker across most of the UK. Half of the channels are on this new satellite and are not accessible.

You can still receive it from 1W on Canal Digital package, but it's rather expensive...

Cheers mate, There was an absolutely lovely 1.3 metre Andrews rip off dish on one of the new builds on the road to my old work, it was roof joist mounted, I'm surprised it never went sailing along with a chunk of the roof, I mean new builds lol, one layer of brick and wood that was either going to be garden fence slats or used it Barratt homes lol

My Polsat subscription came to an end and I decided not to renew it, given the fact that I barely watched it. Still have Focus Sat and Viasat Latvia (or whatever it decided to rename to this week) with the latter having some OK HD channels (thankfully all on the stronger Astra 4A). Won't be long till this satellite is replaced as it's 12 years old now.

I did get another toy last week - a Roscrypt CAM! This opens all Roscrypt channels on all satellites - at least all those that I can receive. There's talk of other channels encrypting soon, not just Pervyj Kanal and Rossiya 1.It's a bit of a pain as it doesn't want to initialise in most satellite receivers. Thankfully, Openbox S3 isn't one of them and it works fine there. Are there any E2 receivers with T2-MI (without astra-sm) and two CAM slots?

How much Roscrypt stuff is there? I thought it was mainly c-band in Europe?

Pretty much on every C band satellite from 40E to 140E. Don't think there's anything in Ku. They are used to feed terrestrial multiplexes all over Russia. We just happen to receive some satellites (40E and some of 53E for me).

This is why I wanted a separate 1.2m dish just for 40E.

Did you get the cam from a retailer or from a personal contact?

Personal contact. These are not consumer cams so tricky to find. That said, I can put you in touch if you want one

Hi

I was recently looking trough the T2-MI list on flysat for 40 degrees east and there was the decription system GostCrypt. But as you say and also on lyngsat its still Roscrypt written. Is it a mistake on Flysat?

Greetings and have a nice Sunday

Fidu

It's all the same system. "Gos" means "Gov" (government or close to that meaning), so it fits. The CAM says Roscrypt on it but receiver calls it Krypgos when plugged in.

Thanks for the offer - sadly I really dont have room for a permanent C-band dish. Its getting crowded with dishes behind the garage :D

Thanks, I first thought they have a new system.

With my Viasat subscription ending soon, I thought I'd try a different one. I've been to-ing and fro-ing between Viasat Ukraine and Xtra TV. Both are available through either eBay sellers or some Ukrainian satellite shops and both offer more or less the same set of channels.

The biggest caveat for me is that I cannot receive Nordic Beam on 9E (nor Italian) where most of Xtra TV channels reside. However, most, though not all, channels are replicated on 13E, 5E and 4W(!) Given that Xtra TV also offers decoding via a Verimatrix CI+ CAM, I thought it would make sense to not add yet another box under my TV.

The encryption is, as mentioned, Verimatrix, though they are tunnelling it via Betacrypt - presumably for CAMs only (there is also a separate receiver available). I bought it from Ukrainian agsat shop for £13(!) + about the same for postage. To activate the CAM, you need a Ukrainian phone number (I use a virtual SIM with SMS capability) and some loose change on your credit card.

Loose change - the packages are very cheap. An almost full package with no sports channels costs 169 Hryvnias ~ £4.70 per month. Sports channels take this up to just over 200 Hryvnias, which is still very cheap.

Verimatrix encryption is ...annoying. It has clearly been designed to work with its own little box, rather than a CI+ CAM, which expects to be receiving an Xtra TV signal at all times. This is because the CAM is constantly updated with entitlements/keys. Even if you don't watch it for about 5 minutes and tune into Xtra TV channel, you get a message saying that you are not worthy. Though it only takes about 10 seconds to update that and for picture to clear. Still annoying.

Channel line up is you usual mix of movie channels, docs, kids etc. Most channels offer two sound tracks - original and either Ukrainian or Russian. HD quality is very good, though a little 'soft' (a bit like BBC HD). SD quality is average - not as good as it can be, like the French or German SD channels but not as bad as some of the Freesat ones. And definitely not as bad as ITV SD on Freeview!

I think we'd love some screencaps of some of the HD channels we only have watched in SD.
BTW, Xtra uses pure Verimatrix, nothing tunneled on Betacrypt. The only Betacrypt tunnel is OSN and that was purely because it happened a little before Verimatrix aquired Betacrypt and changed its name also.
This is why all 17XX caids are reported as Verimatrix in my skin, this is the official encryption name as of now, even for OSN. Betacrypt does not exist anymore. Especially 171X caids are only Verimatrix.

I guess I need to update your skin :) (and the image - it's ancient) Some channels, like Viasat Ukraine only have 5604(?) as the CAID for VM and some have both 5604 and 1712. If selecting 5604 only, I get "Unable to view program" message.

Some HD screenshots...

5604 is used in cardless registered receivers only (mainly for feeding cable networks).
