There are a couple of pigeons lurking around here and we know that when we go on holiday they are going to move into out terrace as our sprinkler system is about the only place they can find a drink these days.

It wouldn’t be so bad if all they did was drink, but they also paint the tiles white and then coat it in feathers.

Anyone know of a way to keep them out?

Suggestions from the neighbours include keeping a tame eagle, hanging a cat by its tale for them to see and a using a .22, which all have their downsides.

I was in a South Coast hotel a couple of weeks ago and they were offering seared breast of pigeon. I suppose cremated breast might be a bit easier on the old molars.

Nothing wrong with pigeon, but I wouldnt consider eating the town variety

Why not electrify the patio - keeps them off it (well at least the second time ) and provides you with something for the casserole pot

It now looks like we are running some strange promotion for AOL (just couldn’t find any Barry M. at such short notice), but it might be working. At any rate the CDs also create nice rainbow patterns on the wall (just so long as they move around enough not to set anything on fire, they’re quite bright)

Anyway I’m away on holiday tomorrow, so wont know of they actually work for some time. This also means I probably won’t be around here so much also, but I’m pretty sure they have computers and the internet in Edinburgh, so I’ll probably manage to drop in every now and then. :)
