G'day all
I will try to keep this short (
).
I have the above Kuro, which has a built in sat-receiver. I would want to set up a dedicated htpc (install xmbc on it), which will:
- Read movies from my Synology NAS and stream it to my Kuro;
- Preferably record TV-shows from my Kuro and send these to the Synology NAS for later viewing.
I have no clue, however, if this is at all possible (and I am by no means technical
). I mean, what I do understand is:
- The sat broadcasts data encrypted;
- You need a card to decrypt it (have one, it is in the Kuro media receiver) so the TV can understand the signal.
But, once the signal is 'decrypted in the TV', can it then be sent to the htpc? My sat-guy says it is not possible, I need to buy a separate Dreambox sat receiver first. But I am doubting that(?)
Would anybody happen to know if, and if so, how, this would work? What would I need to buy?
Thank you very much in advance for any replies
