A Danish pizzeria owner who refused to serve German and French tourists before the war in Iraq has been charged with discrimination.

Aage Bjerre was investigated by police for refusing to serve the tourists because of their countries' lack of support for the US-led conflict.

No date has been set for a trial but, if found guilty, he could be fined about £450, said Esbjerg Deputy Chief Constable Steen Boejlund.

Bjerre's pizzeria is on Denmark's Fanoe island, which is a popular holiday destination for visitors from neighbouring Germany. Visitors from France are rare.
