Was thinking of ordering one of these plasma TV's from Tiny-

_ttp://homecinema.tiny.com/tv/bargain_plasma_lcd/14759

£999 for a 42" Plasma, Glass stand, DVD Player, 4 Speaker Theatre System.

Anyone got one ?
Is the picture good ?
Is the backup good ?
Would you buy it ?

Cheers

Don't think that you can beat the Panasonic at the moment Chris, certainly the ones a lot of professionals use. :)

Personally, I wouldn't get a Plasma tv, picture quality is worse that CRTs, and all plasma panels have misssing pixel defects (it's impossible to make perfect ones).

Same as mine (only you've bought it cheaper - :-doh! )

You shouldn't be disappointed - much better than Tiny's IMHO.

No - My other TV does - also a Philips - seldom use that function.

Here's a picture take a few minutes ago (G8 concert) in a conservator so a lot of reflections at this time of day in sunny Scotland.

May be possible with PC/TV inputs

You can have two pages of Teletext on screen side by side.

Let me know how you get on.

I went in to comet yesterday to have a look at the Philips plasma before i ordered and if you put your face near the plasma screen they all seem to run very hot or is it just global warming ?

Yes it gets warm - not quite hot.

Great in the winter - the screens should last longer than a CRT - but that's another debate.

You can view high definition on the Philips Plasma Chris is buying, using the PC input.

Let's not open the high definition debate in yet another thread!

Chris forget the Philips not enough resolution for HiDef instead look for the Hitachi 42PD7200 1024x1024 resolution and it has HDMI and DVI sockets so you can use a computer if you can afford it.
