Not sure if this is the right place.
Feel free to move or delete if so Admin.
Anyone know where I can get a polar mount for a channel master 1.2 molded dish?
Only seen them on satellite superstore but surely somewhere else would sell them too or have they got the market?
Would be happy with a used one as it's not a brand new dish.
Thanks in advance for any replys.

@zonerc You are too late, too late, I had such a PMs while ago at reasonable price. How much you wish to pay for a used one and how much for a brand new?

Thanks for the reply.
Not sure really I'm going on holiday Friday and trying to get some ideas of any available retail but open to used maybe even with the actuator.

I might have one for sale. It's not in best state but is usable. I need to collect it from my parents' garage (have enough crap in mine!) and clean it up a bit.

Morning Captain Jack
If you can try get some pics of it and come up with an idea of price.
Also where are you located?

I am in Somerset. I won't be at my parents' place for a few weeks yet and I am travelling abroad next week...

That's fine as I go away to tenerife for 10 days tomorrow anyway.
I only got the dish the other day with a fixed mount on but won't be doing anything with it until I'm back.

Just been reading a old thread you commented in about install the larger dish on a h to h motor rather than a polar mount.
It was a Moteck 180 but reading through it seems build is not that good but it was said the jaeger smr-1224 was a lot better.
Question is would this be a better option for a Newby rather than the polar mount if I was able to source a good used one as they are not made anymore?
Or is somthing else available these days?
Thanks for any help you give.
By the way it will be on a ground stand.

I would pick 1224 motor over any polar mount. You get a more linear pulse count across the arc as well as a wider arc overall. I do have a couple of 1224 motors but I won't be parting with them.

Now, the Moteck 180 is ... OK but having installed it once, I wouldn't want to do it again. Build quality is rubbish and it's missing limit switches, which has caused a few issues for some members here.

Sounds like that could be the way to go but guess that depends on getting hold of one and or picking up a polar mount at a good price and actuator.
Like I said I'm a newbie to this but do take to things quite well.
Only have the Channel Master molded 1.2m dish and stand at the mo.
Would rather get the right stuff and wait rather than rush and get all the wrong gear.

Don't get me wrong - a CM polar mount isn't a bad thing and far more people have than a 1224/H-to-H motor. My Laminas is on a PM - with a decent actuator, there are no issues.

Will just have to keep my eyes open for what ever comes up first but don't fancy paying new prices that s/superstore are quoting.
And it could be a temp installation as I may be moving next year.
