Hi,
I am looking after a positioner or receiver (to use as a positioner) that can control 2 X Actuator Motors (E-W Actuator & Elevation Actuator).

Thanks for any idea.

Apart from professional equipment used by downlink operators, the only receiver I know of that has two positioners is the Technomate TM5500DAPCI.

The downside is that one of the 'positioners' is for controlling a Diseqc motor, but maybe a Vbox could be used here. Don't know if the receiver software for controlling this output (Diseqc - VBox) would allow this though.

My Echostar SR8700 analogue positioner receiver has an AGC output that can be used to control a separate unit for inclined orbit motors.

Never seen such a unit myself though.

Hmm... interesting. Not sure what the owner used for operating the second actuator. Maybe software in the d-box?

What about the Drake Earth Station Receiver ESR model 1824 or the 2000XT ?

Will they the job ?

Thanks

I think you're getting close with the Drake 2000xt, this apparently has an inclined orbit tracking facility.

Don't know the receiver though, so can't help much there.

One option is to use 2 V-boxes in series so that each hears the same diseqc command simultaneously from the receiver.

Receiver---vbox1---vbox2----LNB.

Otherwise I would recommend a Chaparral Monterey 140 analogue receiver with 2x 36V positioners built-in. You can then control the receiver via a PC.

Take a look to the backside of the Drake Earth Station Receiver ESR 1824, for what are all these connectors ?

Hard to tell from that picture. Depending on the specifications for motor 4 (m1, m2, pulse, gnd) or 7/8 if two positioners built-in.

Mechanical polarizer will be another 3 (+5V, gnd, skew).

Possibly 0/12V will be 1.

Ferritie polarizer will be another 2 (current, gnd - I think!).

The Drake 2000XT came with 1 built-in 36V positioner and another separate inclined orbit add-on - see pic.

The Monterey 140 had 2 positioners, ferrite, mechanical polarizers, and 0/12V - see pic.

Anyone speak Russian? This article seems to be about dual axis positioners. The pics include a Drake and Pansat both of which have 2x 36V and a professional Research Concepts dual-axis controller:
