I received an airmail envelope form India, requiring a signature when it arrived. It took five days to get here. Out of curiosity I converted the postal price to pence - around 45p
Checking with the royal mail website, if I wanted to send this back to India, the same service, international signed for, it would cost close to £4. In fact it would cost more than 45p to send it 'signed for' within the UK.
Now I know there are more things to take into account, what wages are in each place, what else 45p can buy in India etc compared to £4 here, but doesn't that seem very out of balance?
