You have a good mixed bag of kit there, an Irte ground stand, a Jaeger 1224 a Precision 1.8m dish and a Zinwell C Band LNB. It's quality equipment, that's for sure.

@TJExcalibur I have plate (made of 5mm INOX) for Jaeger. I used @Trust1 drawing for that. So, if you wish to have this piece of metal, we can speak PM.

Yes looks good. All upgrades are worth having. Photo enclosed of plate to fix Jaeger to back of dish but will have to drill the dish. I can use this or get a piece of flat sheet to bolt onto the existing dish back ring. Views welcome.

If you can get the channel master adapter plate that used to be shipped with the Jaeger 1224's you can make a T bracket from box section that acts as an interface between the mounting ring of the dish and the Jaeger 1224 channel master plate.

Alternatively you can use two vertical pieces of angle iron to fix to the top and bottom plates on each side of the Jaeger 1224 and then bolt a square plate to the angle iron in such a way that it can have the T bracket bolted onto it.

With the T bracket you have a ready made anchorage point for an inclined tracking actuator. I have attached a picture that shows the general idea. The T bracket is bolted to the three boss head fixing points on the rear mounting ring of the Precision dish. By drilling a few other holes in the T backet it can be secured to the Jeager 1224.

Yes a better idea than I had which was one piece of flat plate but that works out heavy for the motor to move. I will have to ask around for someone to do the welding. The old timer I know can no longer weld due to the shakes, a mixture of drink and old age. Sad really.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

The IRTE backplate was optional since Jaeger added the correct bolt holes to their 1224 accessory pack for the 1.5m dish, the earlier reflector that was on the roof chez Hopper.

Keeping the reflector as far back as possible is key to a reliable elevation system, without any type of counterweight, though the two motors delivered to site at the weekend have a lot of years left in them. Another plate will throw everything further forward.

The 1224 supplied is fully bearing supported for elevation, brass included and complete, no need to adapt at all

Ah yes, now its coming back to me. You marked the dish to fit the IRTE plate so I will do that. When I have finished I will invite you down to launch the dish, plus the fact you gave me a peaceful evening by entertaining Julie.

As mentioned, it was purely an option

Drill the six holes, and pack out the rear - oooer - with decent plastic washers, carefully tightening so the bolts just bite into the aluminium.

Nothing else required, apart from the C band feed alignment at the front.

You are the wrong end of Bournemouth to 'launch the dish', not even a brook at the bottom of the garden.
