Could someone please advise me which channels show Premiership matches on saturdays?

I am planning to get a digital satellite system, my main aims are to be able to watch more Liverpool games (Sky can be quite mean on this) and catch some european strength mature content too.

I have started to research the issues and I know I have to consider which receiver to get (prob. Humax) and which embedded cam option to get to suit my needs best, its all very complicated and not straight forward but im getting there.

Look forward to any responses

Thanks and regards

Steve

Im overwhelmed by the response!!!!

Surely somebody watches premiership matches on satellite (not sky).

I understand Canal plus is the main channel, any others?

Obviously less people than you think, I understand that some of the Scandinavian channels show the Premiership, but I'm not sure which ones. I haven't researched this as I'm not a great football fan, now nature channels abound on 19.2E Seca and 13E Iredeto. There are also a lot of film channels with English sound.

I'm not a football fan at all I'm afraid, but I have noticed flicking through the channels that a number of "Kick" channels on the German Betacrypt "Premiere World" package show what I think was UK football, as do some Taquilla channels (Spanish Mediaguard package) - both at Astra1.

There seems to be alot of english football teams covered regularly by canal+ 1 and 2. Not much interest in football personally but just thought i would mention it. They are a mostly dedicated film channel that show the odd documentary and nature film late at night but also have a few hours each week dedicated to sport.

You could try a few tv guide sites that will give you an idea of the type of programs each channel shows.
canal +1 and 2 you can find at
http://www.canalplus.nl
football usually about teatime (more at the weekends i think)
or for a broader range of channel listings try
http:://www.eurotv.com
http://www.plus.es
You may want to cut and paste the text and then also boot up on a seperate browser window a translation site that will translate some of the text into english. www.plus.es is in spanish but canalplus is dutch. If you find a dutch translator site please post a link here but you can usually understand what its trying to say anyway. :)

Hi folks

A site worth looking at as the season gets closer is http://knplogic.co.uk

Last season the matches could be found mainly on C+ 1 and 2 (Holland), KICK (P/W), Supersport (Nova) but this latter one may disappear with the advent of irdeto II encryption. Of course our Scandavian friends have C+ in either conax or d2-mac encryption but with d2-mac disappearing ........

In Mediaguard, English premier league football is shown live on Saturdays in the following packages Telepius (with English commentary, if flick to second audio), Dutch Canal+ (Astra), often French Canal + (Astra) and from this season the Polish Cyfra+ package on Hotbird. Between them, they also show many Sunday and Monday premiership fixtures.

I appreciate that this is an old question (string) but thought all those interested in Football might be interested in this link.
It shows what match, is on which channel, around the world!

The above game is LIVE on Canal+ FRANCE (Viaccess) on 22nd Jan, Tuesday at 20.00UK time. footy fans this will be a brilliant match to watch.

Prediction...2 - 0 to the red devils. 1st goalscorer Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

This will be Football at it's best.

I know this is an old link, Thudufushi, but did you have any luck in your search for uk football. I too am interested in this and would like to know what (if any) reciever/dish etc.. you went for and what success you have had over the last few months.
I was relying on it*d for my footy fix but now that has gone I need to find it else where.
