... Good question but it all depends what exactly you want the meter to do/ measure, and how much you are willing to spend. There a quite a few "Pro" meters available ranging from 6 to 7 grand downwards. I'm not a satellite installer, I'm an electrical contractor ,
but use a Promax HD Ranger+ for my hobby use and love it.
Give us a bit more info Paul, I'm sure one of the Pro installers will come up with some answers for you.

I had a Rover meter some time back, fiddly little screen, not very responsive, I didn't like it personally.

The Rover ST range can be a tad slow on spectrum trace. All really depends on budget and exact uses.

The Master is a more advanced meter AFIK but both older machines now. Take a look at the manufactures website roverinstruments.com

It really depends on your budget, I've got an HD Ranger + and it does everything I need it to do, plus some things I don't need and will probably never use. Having said that, I've found that most less expensive meters lose out on one or more features, whether it be spectrum refresh speed, quality on information, or quality of display.

Why do we need spectrum analyser on meter what's the idea of it?

And the constellation?

The spectrum is for me probably the most used feature on my meter, I can recognise several of the most common satellites instantly from the spectrum trace and when used for terrestrial signals, can with one rotation of the antenna locate which is the best transmitter to aim at.

The constellation is good for fine tuning and skew adjustment, but to be honest, I rarely use it.

A spectrum trace is very useful for adjustment to LNB skew.

Not as far as I know, normally by the time you've invested in one you know what you're doing.

I am aching for a Pro max meter like John and Llew have but it's very expensive for my pocket and the use I will get out of it.

What do you think of the satfinder 5hd slim?
Not a bad little meter is that. I use one, nice and compact for outside. Refresh rate in the spectrum is decent too.

Do you find it more accurate to align with spectrum analyser, Constellation or individual channels dB level?

I usually use the spectrum first, then look at the levels..
