Hi All
I cannot move my dish with my vbox using the vbox remote or the Technomate 1500 remote. The display on the vbox shows E-2. Has anyone had a similar problem.? I would be grateful for any advice to resolve this problem.
Cheers for now

Has your motor on the dish hit the mechanical limit?

If not maybe you could try a reset on the vbox.

Thanks for that. I think you may be correct. As after posting the original thread I did get control back of the vbox and dish after reseting the vbox.

However, whilst trying to set the west limit I think that I may have moved the dish to far west and appeared to have now reached the mechanical limit and once again the vbox cannot move the dish. However the box is now displaying 000 as opposed to E-2. Could it be that the motor on the actuator is now stuck? Will I need to open up the motor to get it moving again and how do I do it?
Any advice would be gratefully acceepted.
Cheers for now

I would remove the cover of your actuator. You will see a white cog with a screw on top, with two little button`s along the side.

Probably one of them is pressed in. Slacken the screw and move the limit. then move your dish in the opposite direction, away from the limit then return the limit to its original position.

Set the limit on the vbox to stop before the mechanical limit. hopefully you should be motorised again!;)

Thanks for this crossbones.
Taken off cover no white cog but red disc (bottom middle) and black disc with 2 buttons on at approx 90 degrees to on another (top right)adjacent to 2 micro switches(reed switches maybe). Should I loosen the black cog in place of the white one that you have suggested and follow your original instruction.
Cheers for now.

The "E2" message means the VBOX is trying to drive the motor but doesn't receive any pulses. A couple of reasons for this could be:

- You have reached a limit switch
- Motor cabling is not working properly
- Sensor cabling is not working properly
- The sensor is too far away from the magnetic wheel or it is damaged (I had this problem, replacing the sensor solved it)

the two micro switches looking at your pic, top right hand side. Are any of the switches pressed in by the oval shaped wheel? If so do as I have instructed above.

If not then its probably your reed switch, located in the little black box top left.;)

Double check all cables are connected.

Cheers crossbones got it sorted eventually.
Dismantled the motor, some corrosion, cleaned it up. As I was reassembling one of the magnets became detached. Superglued back in place. Chipped one of the bushes, thought this would never work ( even started looking for price for new actuator "Ye of little faith"). Altered upper and lower mechanical limits, reset vbox and went through installation procedure 3 times before I got it right.

My rejoicing to her in doors about the success was met by "I should think so you've spent the last 2 days fiddling with it.

Never mind got there in the end.

Also found an instruction sheet on actuators. But cannot upload as I am told it is to large.
But any one can have it if they PM me and give me their email address

Cheers for now

Would have done sooner but had problems with scanner. Here it is for public consumption.
Cheers for now.
