Not as far as I know although it was nearly a year ago I last checked. Mine were bought direct from Prof and arrived via courier within four days. I had to return one for repair under warranty and it was straight forward, they even sent out a replacement card before mine had arrived in China.

Hi aceb,

I hope that 1.8m Precision is giving you good service and that you are enjoying it.

Would you please be able to provide a link to the "Prof" company that you bought your cards from? As you outlined previously there was a parting of the ways or something similar with the company and I just wish to be sure I order from the correct supplier.

It's doing a splendid job, spends most of the time set up for C band but I've made a seperate feed with arms for Ku and switch over in a matter of minutes. http://www.store.proftuners.com/ is where I bought mine from, the other company with the hyphenated URL ended up being nothing more than vapourware. FWIW I've used both the 7301 and 8000 and they have identical RF performance and blindscan at the same speed. They only receive upto 8PSK, not 16PSK or ACM like the TBS cards but for the amount I miss with those limitations it's no problem for me.

Thx for the reply.

Have you used the Prof cards with software such as AltDVB, DVB Dream or ProgDVB?

Yes, used them all but stick with Dream as it's the most stable and I prefer how it looks but much of the time is spent using Crazyscan, Easy Blindscan and TSreader/VLC.

aceb,

Received my Prof Revolution 7301 from Hong Kong today, quite a quick service.

I have a question if you can help re the driver installation? I checked the CD that came with the card and the drivers are quite old from 2009, however, there are newer drivers on their web site. The drivers from the website only consist of a cat file, an inf file and a sys file, ie it is not a full CD type of install.

What method did you use to install the card and drivers, did you use the original CD that came with the card then updated the installed drivers after that or did you not bother with updating the drivers?

I am using Windows 7 64 bit if that has any bearing on it?

Those three files should be all you need, insert the card, boot and point to the directory the files reside in when the option is given. If the card is already in and the PC running go to the device manager, click on the Prof card and update driver. You may notice if finds more than one device, this is normal.
