Programming an Opos card 1.03

My Satellite Setup
Echostar DSB-808 Vi2
80cm Dish Motorised, temporally on a 1mt pole mount, (which tracks the arc if the wind blows the right direction.) Pace 2600 (Sky), Infinity usb+Cas3 programers.
Dell P4-2.4ghz, 512DDR, 75GB HD
Radeon 9800 Graf/Crd. + Ext HD M

Quite new to this but have been able to program an Opos card 1.03 using a infinity USB Unlimited to receive a few channels on my Echostar DSB-808 Vi2 using downloaded Xin1freecam Crypt files - loading the card into a Zeta Yellow Cam – The problems start when I try to run a Cw update file - if I try this in VCP mode I get a program crash every time?
I need some info to point me in the right direction – please excuse my ignorance but:
Do I need to use any other program to install the updates?
If my programmer is USB how can I select a COM port when in VCP mode?
I’ve also downloaded Naga Edit & Winex 5.42 do I need them?
I assume I can update just keys as required is this correct or do I need to enter the eprom and flash/app each time?
Is the purchase of a different cam or 1.05 Opos card required to extend the channel possibilities I updated the card to 1.04 but have since read that this makes no difference and that it is not possible to upgrade to 1.05
Any help appreciated as I’m getting more lost by the minute!

You need a 105 card for Cw.

Once you go from 103 to 104 it is a dead end, no way back to any other version and will be no good for any satellite channels.

Thanks for the info – I’m going shopping for a 1.05 – do I then run update files in VCP mode? At present none of the com ports show my USB programmer?

I doubt you can get the 105 card to work in your Yellow Zeta cam.

And I doubt you can get the updater to work in your USB programmer.

These new type programmers are a complete waste of money and effort. The old style simple phoenix/smart mouse are far easier to use and still do most of the current cards.

Can you recommend a programmer that I can use to run an update file on the Opos 1.05 card I have just ordered and an ideal cam?

See if you can get the card to work with your present equipment first.

What makes you think the updater file still works? The Opos site has been closed for a week.

PS I'm bored by the font changes, another non-std font and I'll leave it to someone else to reply.
