Ok ..my turn to ask for some help ..
Basically I want to run a new cable through a wide conduit underground..
The conduit already has one cable in it ...but as we know Sat cable aint good at negotiating right angled bends of which there are 2 in the conduit...
So what I envisaged was attaching a pull through cord to the existing cable ..and dragging this through using the old cable (not fully as thiswould defeat the objective)...thus having a way to now attach a second stiff coax...and dragging a second cable through the conduit.
Hope this makes sense..
So the pull through cord has to be relatively thin (max 1/4 inch) ..strong (high breaking strain) ...flexible (to negotiate bends) ....any suggestions ?

What about fishing line? Might be worth running a few lines, for futur cable runs, and you can use one to pull the original cable back, if you accidentally pull it too far.

Fishing line sounds good ..
..but have no experience using it ..
Does it stretch ? ...can it be snapped by hand ...?

@ Gordon ..bore diameter is 30mm ...approx 4 mtrs long with a couple of right angles along it's length

One of those flexy wire drain cleaner things, with the corkscrew bit removed?....That way you could push it through without having to attach it to another cable....

I use this from Clas Ohlson for pulling cables through:

It depends on how much force you put on the line I.E. 50lb fishing line will snap with 60lb of force on the line

Visit a local angling supply shop and ask for some strong sea fishing line

How long is the conduit and how acute are the right angles? If they're 90 degree bends then youre going to have a problem regardless.

Here in France I have a semi regid flexible rod (oo-err, missus) made of nylon which you can push up a conduit, attach cable(s} to and then pull through. There's also some special lubricant which you put on the cables which help reduce the friction (oo-err again, missus). I pulled 4 lengths of WF100 through a flexible conduit this way.

I have one of these as well. I snapped the brass eye at the end (to which you attach the cables) by pulling too hard :(

..Understated the problem ..as there are in fact 3 acute right angles to negotiate ..
But it is a wide bore conduit and took roughly 30 minutes to get the pre stretched curtain cord through the pipe attached to exisisting coax ...2 inches at a time ...push pull method ..
Phase 1 complete ..
doubled the 20 mtr cord first ..so might have a chance to pull a future cable ..if this one succeeds..
wish me luck ..
lol

Heck, is there anything that you tackle which goes easily according to plan?

Looks like you're doing fine, though.

..Nothing so dramatic Gordon ..
Had to open the shop for a few hours ..sadly nothing came in for repair ..
Not unusual when the weather turns nice..
Been home for about 30 minutes ..which is all it took for the cable ..pull through..
Made a looped eyelet using both core and braid ..
flooded the eyelet with solder ..and tied the cord with 3 knots and taped over to avoid snagging..
Say hello to monsieur cable ...just popped out of the ground to say.. hello world..
;)
