I have just received my satellite system from CREATIVE SATELLITE near London.

Technomate TM-5500CI Super receiver

Digipower SG-2100A DiSEqC 1.2 H-H motor

Triax 88cm dish

Fortec Star .04Db LNB

Can anybody tell me if that LNB is ok, as the system came as a package? or would you recommend a better LNB for my Triax 88?

I am told that the new Invacom 0.3dB LNB is the best premium quality LNB on the market!
And at a cost of only £23:00 new (if you look hard enough) is an absolute bargain!!
I paid £3 for delivery.

Specifications:

Universal Single LNB 0.3dB Horn

Dead cheap!

This LNB usualy retails at double that!!
Watch out for the birds, they seem to think there are worms or similar behind the plastic cover.

A plastic bottle for protection is not a bad idea!

Erm.....Say agian!!!
Some people have had problems with birds trying to make a hole in the front cover of the Invacom.

Could be the colour attracting them in some way, maybe it looks similar to something else where they use to find food.

This is no joke, just trying to help.

Capito?

I must have blinked as technology whizzed from 0.3dB to 0.03 - 0.04dB
I have long since forgotten the formula from lnb dB to Kelvin but that must be pretty close to absolute zero. Dont touch them . . . . .
The birds beaks will freeze shut if they try pecking.
all the same, I might get some of them. Ive had a lot oif failures recently incl my syntech

Still use the grey Invacom 0.3 dB lnbf, in the triax 1.1 metre dish :)

The latest Sharp is according tests also quite good, as the Invacom white.

I use an homemade raincover from an old plastic waterbottle and never had problems with birds after that :)

Cheers,

Cor.
