Thanks to all for tips and comparisons. Good to learn other experiences. For a beginner it's impossible to know what is available without the cross-check. For example you say Nilesat probably needs a 1.2 metre. Now I know to stop wasting my time and move on a couple of degrees. As I said before I'm limited to 30 West and about the same East at 28.2 East. Lots in between but I may consider moving to a clearer site after Christmas. Afraid to lose so many good channels at present. I have two main viewing interests - All sport and feature films better old than new! On Hispasat I could only get about a dozen channels at first then absolutely levelled everything and hit the search button again to throw up about I think 200/300 channels virtually all coming in strong - the Canal + Sports range C Deporte's and about thirty film channels including Taquilla. At 5 West I have Globecast and BRTV, in the clear but MCM Belgique is scrambled. Signal better than 80 per cent. On Thor I have DR 1 and 2, TV Dan 1 & 2, Nordic TCM and all the Kiosk and Canal + Nordic channels perfect signals on all also JOJ and TA3. No NRK at all. I had SVT but it's off my screen at present. Sirius is changeable as you indicated. I'm getting the hang of the single transponder search to expand the listed options on the receiver and on Sirius I pulled in TV 1000 2/3 Cinema 100 2/3 Ticket 1 and 2 but the signals are only about 50% and pixelating (hope that's spelt right!) The other FTA channels are very strong - about a dozen. I also have TV Sport RO very strong signal but no sound or picture - can't figure that. On 7 East I have Tv 5 Orient OCCE, Globecast again,TVP Polonia all strong. I'm happy on some transponders just to get the fix so I can hunt for Match feeds without delay on the day. Delighted to hear how all of us on the island are doing and I can see that I may have to go bigger to get those on the edge. If you want any transponder settongs symbol rates or the like just ask but I think you're all still ahead of me at this stage. Would welcome news of channels received not mentioned here within my spread of the sky. On another forum here I saw Razor wondering about a SAT Shop in Dublin. Electroplus is the only retail outlet I know and don't have too a great range. But you can buy some CAMs and fittings but no cards and a tight range of receivers. The best supplier I found was Tony Moore at www.Satellite Ireland.ie. He's knowledgeable and reliable and about the same as UK prices. Given that we're being ripped off on almost everything else it's refreshing to find that our interest area is still competitive. Thanks all for the chat and the info. Regards Diarmuid
