Would this be better for 19.2 and 28.2 in the far south west than a normal 60 cm dish.

Yes, they're a very good dish, used a few myself.

Many thanks neil
PS so you think a normal 60cm dish would be a touch to small

You would probably get by for most of the time, but may get dropouts in wet weather.

Hi,

I'm thinking of using a Raven 70cm dish with two Lnbs to receive Hotbird and Astra 2 (Free to air channels, BBC etc) Will this work? How well? I'm located in SE just west of London. What lnb's should I use?

Rolfw as you have used this dish how did you find it and what was your setup.

If anyone else has a similar requirement how did you solve it? I do not want to go motorised and wish to keep dish as small as practical

Thank you

The dish would be acceptable for 19.2 and 28.2, but the extra spread required for 13E and 28.2 may cause problems. You would really need the 13E as prime feed, with 28.2 as the offset, but again may experience drop out in bad weather.

Hi rolfw

How have you used this dish?
Could I reduce dropout by using a better lnd on the 28.2 feed?

Has anyone actually used this dish with 13E as prime and used 28.2 as an offset? What was your experience?

I'm new to all this and don't really want to go tp the expense of an installation that will not work.

Using a higher price, lower noise LNB would only serve to give you a slightly better signal to noise ratio, but not enough to make a significant difference. If you are looking for more than 9 degrees offset, then best to use a dish designed for the purpose.

I've been told by re-sellers that this dish can be used for what I want, do I assume from your reply this may not be the case?

What would you suggest would best meet my requirement (note I want to keep dish as small as possible)

Thank You for all the feedback

Not saying that it is absolutely unsuitable, just that there are others which are better suited. It would probably be fine for most of the time.

Thanks to RWZ, tried the Raven for Hotbird and 28.2 in Berkshire/Surrey borders, works well. :)

Not much more to add Telly2, used the Eastern sats offset bar and two California Microwave 0.6 db LNBs (didn't use the 19E holder as wasn't required), ran these into a 2 Way Global DiseqC switch. So the focus is on 13 East and the offset sat 28.2 East
