Hi,

I had a motorised dish installed around 5 years ago, tried moving it to another satellite at the weekend and it just started giving no signal.

Dish doesn't move when I try with both a TM5402 or a Vu Duo

I'm assuming the problem is motor related but I know that previously it seemed to be 1 degree out, so I believe that it needs realigning but I could be wrong.

Is there anyone local to N Staffordshire area who can do this ?

Thanks

Try using Diseqc 1.2, to move your dish, and use the fine tune option, in the menu settings, to nudge your dish, to see if you still can get any signal.
Have you visually checked your dish, to see if it is hasn't slipped, and checked all the connections are still working?

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

I would first give the dish a visual check, just in case it is pointing somewhere it shouldn't.

Also check the cabling to and from the motor.
Try resetting the motor if it's a Moteck or variant.

Deep in the Boonies in the central Sierra Nevada mountains of California.
Set the receiver to a horizontal transponder on that satellite, then go out to the motor and try the manual East/West buttons, if it does not move then there could be a cabling problem (corroded connector at the LNB input) or the motor it's self is dead.

Be sure to turn the receiver off before removing any coax connections, then test with a DVM to see if you have at least 15.5 volts DC at the motors coax input with the receiver turned on and set to a horizontal transponder.

If under 15 volts or less then 11.5 volts DC then you have a coax cable problem.

If you have the correct DC voltage at the motor and it does not move when you use the manual buttons then its FUBAR.
