I currently have a sky dish with a quad LNB feeding a sky + box plus an extra box. If I were to purchase an motorised 80cm dish would I be able to re- use the lnb and use the spare feed to connect to a Technomate TM-5300 D+? I want to still use Sky could I set the Technomate back to the Sky Satellite when I wanted to watch Sky through the Sky + box?

Well you could but it wouldn't give optimum results because the sky dish is 'short and wide' while a standard dish is 'tall and thin' and the LNB is matched to the appropriate profile. Also the method of mounting is often different. You could probably get away with it for Sky because an 80cm dish has a greater area and so you'd still have a strong signal despite the mismatch, but you may suffer on less strong satellites.

You are allowed 2 dishes under planning regs, so you could leave your Sky dish where it is and still have a motorised one on the other receiver

Cheers for the reply. I thought I'd need planning permission for another dish as my house is less than 15mtrs high?

You are best off, leaving the Sky receiver on a fixed dish anyway, moving the dish around will only cause problems with the Sky box.
