IMO,
the best image for me at the moment would be the one where the 1W keys are available quickest after a key change. With our dear Nordic friends changing keys frequently, I(we) am(are) down for 2-3 days waiting for Mary to be reborn.
I know that those people who have MII cards (whatever they are) are well looked after and the new file is out first; almost the same day. But the MII chappie looks after his trade by encrypting his pirate code. It's like a pirate pissing on my flag, but then we are all pirates; no honour among thieves.

So M8s, can we collude to find out which image gets going again on 1W first? Then we learn something.

As of this minute 19:45 (kick off time) rsakeylist as downloaded from Mary is still 19.11.04, i.e. pre latest black.

Without wishing to sound like an AH, I think you are getting to the point of understanding.

You want keys?

Go and dig them out, and punch them in yourself.

It takes less than a minute, and you can have them the second they are released (in plain format). You can often have them before they are out on Tit card.

It's really easy, and Mary can get stuffed.

As you rightly say, we are reliant on Mr Moneybags creaming his card profit off first, but at least he gives us the scraps off his table.

THanks T_G,

What are some sites you would recommend to go and dig for keys other than ascofun.de and ihaveadreambox (sincerely, it would have been hard for me to dig the conax key there and they seem to have got it on the 22/11).

Altho the folder is dated 22.11.04, it was posted at 22:08 today and the actual files are dated today, except for readme.

btw BStick, I do hunt for the files rather than rely on mary which is why I was asking for even quicker image. Should have said fastest key sites rather than image. Loose language.

:) I'm not criticising, I'm just suggesting that people take the keys and insert them into their own files. That way, you don't have to wait for someone else to do it.

A ready-crafted rsakeylist file is not usually the first file out. Grab the first thing you find with the keys in it, and you can be up and running maybe two hours earlier!
More satisfying as well.

I find that _http://www.rdi-sat.com/conax.php are very quick, but there are many others.

STICK

I must say I would like to try to insert keys on my own, but I would not know how to start. It almost looks like black magic to me. To be honest, I am pretty elated every time I manage to find the correct keys in some forum, download them, insert them by FTP in the right place on Dreambox and I can see the program....I am sure I would probably get a coronary if I ever managed to insert new codes or whatever, but I think if someone would give us some directions and some examples we all would give it a go.

This is not a guide, but it may help.
1. Download the marys key file tar from h__p://yowie.caliph.net.au/hydra/keys/mary.tar.gz
2. Open in with Winzip (or similar). You get a message about the file containing one file, say yes to the 'open this file' prompt.

If you sort by path, you can see which files are provided, and where on the dreambox they are intended to go.

I hope the attached pic doesn't violate the board rules.

FWIW there is a new rsakeylist (with key 21) over on toes that clears kiosk.

This is what I posted (edited here) 4 days ago in another thread

Type in
h**p://yowie.caliph.net.au/hydra/keys/mary.tar.gz
to browser
This will download and if you are set up right, unpack /var
Open your fav ftp client and call the DB. Open /var/keys on DB
open /var/keys in the /var you have unpacked on PC or Mac
and transfer all files in PC/var/keys to DB, overwriting where necessary
Repeat for PC/var/scce to /var/scce on DB.
Reboot.

Now if you find (early) something that isnt Mary but will fit, like a directory
Co*ax 041122 which I think I got from I_have_a_DB early yesterday
then ther directory contains files but also a readme.txt jewel that says
++++++++++++
Unzip and copy file:

/var/scce/rsakeylist
/var/keys/Conax.Key
/var/keys/SoftCam.Key
/var/keys/camd3.keys
var/keys/conax
++++++++++++++
telling you where to stuff each file.
You just overwrite the exiting file using ftp.

Now early yesterday, on a Rumanian site, there were the key strings for co*ax which can be cut and pasted into the key file.
I havnt tried that yet. It is important to have a unix compatible editor but I'll come back with that when it works.

In the meantime,
I have just got a file camd3.keys
which you would put in /var/keys
overwrting the file there
use camd3 and the Germans say it clears the latest coax blackout.
I cant try it till midnight but if anyone wants it, I'll PM or email it to them

Yep, same as before :

And follow instructions. Pretty easy...

Hey guys, key editing is easy. Bit late tonight, but I'll show you tomorrow. It's just a case of knowing which file, and using copy and paste. Let me know exactly what you want, and I'll do some kind of mock up with fruit instead of hex keys :)
