Baadshah - Im sorry but your first post does not make any sense at all. Ive now read it 3 times and I cant make head nor tail of it. Now please explain better what the problem is, or no-one will be able to help you.

I've never heard of the Baff receiver but if it's only an FTA type then you won't be able to get any encrypted channels as there is nowhere to put any card in!

If the receiver has a CI slot then you can add a CAM and then (possibly!) be able to decode channels but we need more information on the receiver to be sure.

I don't know that receiver but I looked here:
http://sat-receiver-world.com/pd671759707.htm?categoryId=40

It's a spec in Turkish, which I can understand a bit, and it says that the FTA model doesn't have any card slots. So you can't use smart cards with your receiver.

The spec also says you can transfer receiver software from a PC. So I checked to see if it would be possible to download from internet updates to your receiver, including the ability to decrypt programmes without having to use cards. Unfortunately the answer is "no". For details see next post.

This receiver is targetted at the Turkish market, so the expertise you're looking for is on Turkish forums.

I had a quick look and found this thread:
http://www.ozmena.com/showthread.php?t=864&page=3&pp=20
Messages #57 and #58 translate as:

"Is there any EMU software for the Baff 3500 FTA?"
The answer given is:
"Unfortunately not...."

(EMU is the software you need for viewing encrypted programs)

So I'm afraid you can't do what you want with your receiver.

YOU CANNOT USE THE BAFF TO WATCH ENCRYPTED CHANNELS.

Please, take the answer given.

Thankyou ;)

If you tell us what programmes or channels or satellite you want to watch someone may be able to recommend a new receiver. Without this information we can do nothing.

If you want to receive any info on the receiver try this web-site
http://sat-receiver-world.com/

It lists about every receiver ever made, bloody big list of them, but you will have to translate from German I'm afraid.
Mind you your receiver will still not show encrypted channels, life's a bitch !

You cannot watch any encrypted channels with your receiver. You must buy a different receiver. If you decide to buy a different receiver we can help you choose one.

baadshah, YOUR RECEIVER WILL NOT PICK UP ENCRYPTED CHANNELS.

YOU NEED TO BUY A NEW RECEIVER, WITH A CARD READER.

ONE MORE TIME, YOUR BAFF RECEIVER WILL NOT (NOT) PICK UP ENCRYPTED CHANNELS. :-doh!

1) Decide which encryption the version you want is using (Hotbird has 3 encrypted versions)
2) Once you have done this, buy a receiver with either that encryption built in, or one with a CI slot so you can buy a camand slot it in.

Should you want the forthcoming Astra 2 release of SET Max, you buy a Sky digibox. SET Max is currently fta on 28E, but not for much longer. At the moment they are just testing.
