I have the Fortec Star fsci - 5100 which has diseqc and usals, does one have an advantage over the other as it doesnt say in the manual and where may i wish to use usals as i can manually adjust the dish using diseqc where as with usals it needs my longitude and latitude?

im guessing then usals would be used if you estabilshed perfect alignment with each individual satellite as diseqc gives you the chance to manually adjust?

With USALS, once you have set up your due south satellite, you just tell your receiver to steer to the satellite that you want and bingo it does just that. With Diseqc you have to keep nudging the dish until you get the satellite and then save it etc etc etc for each satellite.
