I live in Spain, more exactly in Madrid, and I have a dish of 90cms. I would like to know if heading my dish for 28.2E could get BBC for free and ITV or channel4 o 5

Thank you

Unfortunately 90cm is not big enough to receive Astra 2D (the satellite with BBC and ITV on it) in Madrid.

This is from www.astra2d.co.uk

Madrid
Panasonic 31
1.35m dish (distributed by Tecatel)
Getting no 2D channels except ITV Channels Is, Grampian, Scottish, Ulster and ITV2 on 10.906V.

Madrid
Panasonic DSB30
1.2m dish
LNB 0.2dB

I have a 1.2m dish, 0.2db LNB and a Panasonic DSB30 Receiver. I can get the ITV regional and ITV2 channels but now there is no Beeb.

Madrid
Various Brands of receiver
Tecatel 1.35 dish & 1.8 Prodelin fibre dish
LNB Various brands

With the 1.35
All vertical transponders with clear reception 24/7. Horizontal transponders clear reception from early morning to 13.00 approx. Reception intermittent on from then on but never any picture after 19.00 approx. Reception patterns the same regardless of box make and model and have tried with various LNB's. With the 1.35 I tried a Sony 760, Pace 2500, Pace 2600, Amstrad 100, 200, Panasonic 30, 31 all with pretty much the same story. If the signal isn't there, no box is going to pick it up.
With the 1.8 Prodelin (and LNB adaptor) with Sharp 0.4 40mm LNB
Reception of Horizontal transponders solid until 21.00-22.00 approx. Will try the 1.8 Prodelin with MTI C120 Flange and report back.

So even with a dish double your size you wouldn’t have constant reception.

According to a friend of mine, who lives in northern Madrid, you need a 2.4m prime focus dish + good LNB in order to receive BBC+ITV channels 24/7 from Astra 2D. Channel 4 and Channel 5 are on the other Astra satellites at 28.2E and can be received in Madrid 24/7 on a 1.5m dish.

Also remember ITV, channel 4 and 5 are encrypted, so you will need a Sky digibox and viewing card (either current subscription one, or new FTV/cancelled card, the ones with the yellow house on the card) to view them.

Well, I try to do something, but as much as I can get is an offset/prime focus dish of 1,20-1,35 more or less My balcony is not wide enough for more...

Does anyone know why sometimes if lnb's are placed close enough you can get signals from satellites which footprints are not showed to be got in that place?

Regards and Thank you

Yes, I live in a block of flats, but I have a terrace where I have the dish now, It is not too big, but far enough to get the dish there, the problem is that i'm not able to put it on the roof as it is inaccessible :-(

How big is the dish you use to get bbc?

Regards
