I didn't know it was the Stockholm beam that gave me reception here in south east Sweden,this map makes sense in my area.Now I also understand why it's so difficult in south west Sweden!

Let's hope that Sky won't broadcast on Astra with these footprints, even dividing U.K into different areas for different channels.

It's already reality in USA......

Multiple beam transmissions were almost a reality in Europe 2 years ago! Astra 1K had non overlapping beams targetting east and west Europe. To make matters worse, there was to have been frequency re-use between spots. This is the one of the official 1K footprint maps from the ses site, rescued before they were removed:
