hmm if you tv has 2 av ports i think you connect 1 av port to the reciever and the other one plug an S-video connection into your computer via a scart switch and flick it to output.

Next i think what you do is use windows movie maker to record the picture and then stream it over a server on the internet but it has to be a virtual or dedicated server i think.

im pretty sure thats how you do it, i dont think you need to connect it to the LAN, just direct to your computer via scart switch and S-video

this site explains the process in 5 different sections, the 6th point on the site (extras) shows what stuff you need to achieve the process:

hope that helps

That sounds completely wrong to me; are you answering another post?

i dont think you need to connect it to the LAN

Ethernet is the best way to connect to a NAS. I don't think SCART does TCP/IP...

There are a few threads on connecting a Dreambox to a NAS; search should find them.

well ive never done that before but everybody i ask about streaming from receiver to computer always told me to set it up that way, you can use tcp/ip because i used to talk to a lad who ran 1 of these streaming websites who used to stream off sky TV but as you say ethernet is far better and AV ports tend to be crap quallity anyways as you get alot of ghosting going on.

Ive never tried ethernet before as my dreambox aint get up yet but i soon will do lol.

Im sure like most things theres more than 1 way around things

If you can setup a user on the NAS then you should be able to mount it in the same way as a PC drive (more details in The Guide).

Shark:

Recording to a computer has nothing to do with a TV and what connections it has. You don't even need a TV to watch or record from a Dreambox

You connect your Dreambox to the computer (PC, NAS etc) using a CAT5 cable via a router. This is the ONLY way. You record using CIFS.

Hmmm. Your NAS is a Linux box? Have you tried doing a mount from the Dreambox?

Are the Dreambox and NAS on the same subnet?

Please post in English. Use babelfish or google to translate it.

Read The Guide to add a record button to your remote control.

I gave you the link where you can read "add" a record button to a remote (if you use Gemini). And it's in my signature.

What image are you using?

thanks, I found it and it seems to work.

I can record using yellow button now, but have an other problem.
by pressing yellow button once, I get the recording menu,
but if I press exit and yellow button again,
I don't get the recording menu on the screen.
I must switch to any other chanel, then I'm getting again.
knows someone what's wrong ?

You must have used a different button to start/ stop record?

Yellow brings up the DVR menu. Pressing MUTE starts and stops the recording.
