I have a sky dish on the house I have never used and left by previous owner

Sussex, UK
I want to get the BBC and ITV's new freesat service. I am going to have a cable wired from the dish to 1 bedroom and a cable to the living room. I don’t want to wait till nearly christmas to get a PVR because one is not available yet so I will have a SD box for now but if I want to get a PVR at a later date or use a VCR I wanted to know if each room would need a second cable running to it from the dish to enable me to watch one channel and record on another at the same time?:confused

I would appreciate anyone's feedback. Thanks

Welcome to the forum Rob23

Yes if you want to watch one channel and record another you will need a quad lnb, two cables to each room using CT100 or similar. It is good that you are thinking ahead like that. As yet nobody has any specifications on the PVRs however it is more than likely they will have a twin tuner like the Sky+ stbs currently have
