I was surprised at the relatively high outside temperature up there - it gets that cold on a Summer's day on 3000ft Mountains, ditto at times at ground level here in Winter.

I did not see a moments hesitation when he jumped, but what a ride indeed, I note he got on his knees and appeared to say a little prayer when he landed, or was he just emptying his tanks... :-biglaugh

Just been reading the early report on BBC News WEbsite and it seems his Visor Heater was found not to be functioning (Purpose: Provide clear vision by stopping steaming up of the visor when exhaling). A major issue.

Yeah I heard them talking about it on the Youtube feed, apparently they had to turn the heater to full blast to get it to work (from what I can gather)

I couldn't hear much of what what said by those who count as the BBC Pundits talked right over much of it (As per anything vaguely interesting they get involved in).

I'd heard his visor steamed up and he couldnt read his altimeter correctly and so pulled the parachute eariler than he should have done but maybe that was BBC rubbish being spread! I loved the fact that the bbc jumped on the "live" footage in poor quality late on in the day albeit with a large timelag and then talked to some guy in a studio instead on showing live footage. On servustv on Astra 1 the coverage was in hd and more up to date than on the red bull website. So typical of the bbc these days dumbing down instead of showing it for what it was. Why oh why cant the bbc show footage with the studio guys narrating over the footage ,they did the same thing with the jubilee, looking at presenters instead of filming the flotilla and narrating over the top of it. I watched that on ORF3 in the summer, theyre coverage was far superior than the bbcs.

According to the Yanky commentator on the Youtube stream, the BBC and NatGeo have been making a documentary for the last 5 year leading upto this jump

He said we should expect to see it in about 4 weeks time but I`m not sure who this "we" is (UK, USA, Germany, Ireland???) because I`m not sure what country or countries he was officially commentating too lol
