Drill the heads off, hammer the remaining nail flush, apply some polyfilla (or similar), sorted...
Need to be careful if you do that if the nails are anything like cast-iron or cheap steel, i.e. they can rust. :(

Many years ago, when I dry-lined most of the house with 8' x4' sheets of polystyrene-backed plasterboard, I secured the sheets to the walls with a combination of ceiling-tile cement and screws into wall-plugs in the bricks. Over time, due to small amounts of moisture in the bricks, some of the screws rusted and I got brown stains on the inner surfaces of the walls! Next time I decorated, I had to remove the wall paper and extract those rusty screws before refinishing and repapering! :(

metal looks thinish! drill around head of the bolt (stitch drill) so you can remove the heater, this will give you better access to mullar the bolt.
no grinder needed:D

Sorted.

Repeatedly hammered a screwdriver blade under the lip of each head, moving round the edge of the head until sufficiently dislodged to enable me to get the nail-removing end of my hammer under the lip. Withdrawing was then easy.

Damage to plaster etc. minimised as the mounting plate itself withstood and spread most of the impact load. The slightly widened holes now filled.

Thanks to all for the suggestions (Especially @Channel Hopper re. widening the hole and @jeallen01 re. not leaving ferrous stuff in the wall).

Maybe @geordiejohn will be inspired enough to finish what he started, too? :D

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

I've yet to plumb in a dishwasher I bought 5 years ago, so, yeah... :-rofl2

A dishwasher for one?, what an expensive way to wash up for one person

I think dishwashers are an expensive way of washing up regardless of the number of people.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Some manufacturers used to claim that their product was more efficient than hand washing, though I cannot remember whether it was the energy, the water required, or the final condition of the plates/cutlery that was the basis.

I've got one more Storage Heater to remove in due course and this one is mounted on a stud partition wall up in our attic conversion.

Not sure how the top mounting bracket up there is secured, but ten gets one I'll create far more mess removing it than I did downstairs, as the material is essentially wholly brittle.

i think this idea was spread around by cutlery/plate manufacturers to get you to buy more ! so you can fill your dishwasher up to make it more economical, although they havent said how long it would take to get your money back on all the new plates etc you've bought.:)

What do you mean by trying to get the thread back on topic? I'm taking a house point OFF for that! :)

That makes more sense. Of course I've also had a go at diversifying in the past...

I hope your wife never finds out that you did that - or you'll be on the way to a Gulag PDQ!
