This is a response to another forum poster, when calling BSKYB Customer services to ask about the need to view UK terrestrial broadcasts once the BBC channels have changed from FTV to FTA reception. It confirms the changeover is rightly only the BBC derived channels, however the tone (unless I am paranoid) suggests that there is some room for BSKYB to add another tier of subscription for the remaining terrestrial channels (ITV, Channel 4 and 5)

Chap called 'Robin' confirms that ALL FTV CARDS WILL BE SWITCHED OFF IN STAGES FROM 'BEGINNING OF JULY'.

Anyone wishing to see these channels wiil have to subscribe...


I hope this is not the case, and ITV and the rest see sense and use the advsertising revenue to pay for the copyright.
