OH I'm sorry you guy don't speak redneck, it's not the same meaning as what you guys think.

It's short for "working on something that will take some time, cut up your fingers during fabrication, fly out of the work vise when drilling it and will need a very big hammer at the end of the job to smash it all to pieces so you will feel better and need to go to the store and buy one".

I did hear the term 'cluster****' not long ago, which might sum up the whole sorry process.

We use "CF" a lot around here, mostly as we drive by the road crews that are trying to see how many patches they can put on top of the last one's that didn't work.

Never heard of that description for that thing in the US before. Maybe another case of words & phrases that have different meanings Trans-Atlantic, like the urban legends of the Scottish schoolteacher telling her American students to have their rubbers handy, or the young Irish man who is over in the States meeting his cousins there for the first time telling them that he needs to go outside to smoke a fag. Or in an incident which actually happened, Coca-Cola advertised their short-lived-on-shelves in the UK and monumental-PR-feck-up Dasani filtered tap water as being "spunky".
